Houseplant: Ctenanthe 'Fishbone Prayer Plant'
Latin Name: Ctenanthe Burle Marxii
Part of the Maranta family, the leaves are the most interesting feature of this plant. The striped, fishbone pattern is dark green on top of the light, gray-green leaves. The underside of the Ctenanthe Burle-Marxii leaves is often red or grayish. The plant comes potted in one of our Snug Harbor Farm Flare terra cotta pots, designed by owner Anthony Elliot and hand thrown by potters.
Light requirements: Bright indirect light to partial shade. Too much direct light with scorch the leaves.
Water requirements: Plan to water every 3-5 days. Soak until water flows freely through the drainage hole. These plants enjoy humidity, so misting each day helps if your home is drier.
